Today's tilt-up warehouse buildings present a challenge as they were not designed to support the added weight of suspended ceiling systems or rack structures typically required for building "box-in-a-box" controlled environment room. Recognizing the need for a solution to this challenge, the team at Xō Structure began working on developing a system that would address this specific challenge. After years of design and engineering, Xō Structure now offers two structurally engineered TI solutions for the perfect box-in-box solution.
THE SOLUTION
Engineered around heavy duty structural approved pallet racking, the RSS System is designed as a controlled environment building for pallet storage applications. The RSS System is truly a self-contained free-standing box in a box building that utilizes IMP's to provide the thermal, air, water and vapor barrier protection.
Wide open floor plans are available for buildings requiring unobstructed clear span spaces without a single support column inside the structure. The EXO System is typically with IMP's when a self-supported processing areas in need of thermal, air, water and vapor containment are required.
AVP - We offer consulting services related to structural supported controlled environment buildings. We have performed surveys and consulting for clients interested in evaluating free-standing box in a box controlled environment structures for pharmaceutical storage, polymer processing, and various food related storage and processing requirements
THE DESIGN
The EXO Design for clear-span open-space requirements, or our RSS Design for integrated product storage-racking structural applications are robust enough to be designed to eliminate secondary structure or supports for ceiling structures and walls and the added weight of mechanical systems often required for controlled environment spaces.
